About this Event
Join us for a community meeting hosted by Pratt Institute graduate planning students, who have been developing ideas and research focused on the future of the Brooklyn Marine Terminal and Red Hook’s working waterfront. At this session, students will present highlights of their class projects, including proposals related to port revitalization, resiliency, transportation, land use, and community development. Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Review student research and draft concepts for Red Hook’s future.
- Share local knowledge, lived experience, and priorities for the neighborhood.
- Engage in open dialogue with students, community members, and stakeholders about what works, what’s missing, and what should be strengthened.
- Help shape recommendations that balance port functions, housing needs, resiliency, and economic opportunity in Red Hook.
This meeting is designed to be an interactive exchange — not just a presentation. Your feedback will directly inform the students’ final reports and ensure that academic work is grounded in community voices and local realities. The goal of this meeting is to gather meaningful community input on the Pratt students’ planning concepts for the Brooklyn Marine Terminal and Red Hook. By the end of the session, participants will have shared local knowledge, concerns, and priorities, and students will leave with direct community feedback to refine their proposals so they better reflect neighborhood needs, values, and aspirations.
