Call to Action: Seeking Community Engagement
St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks is updating the department’s Land Preservation, Parks, and Recreation Plan. This plan serves to guide the agency and community for the next 5 years. Citizen input is vital to help identify needs, set priorities, and shape practical, community-driven recommendations for future decisions about parks, recreation programs, facilities, and natural areas in the county.
Join us at the Leonardtown Library to learn more and provide us with your thoughts for the future of Recreation & Parks. Meeting with include a presentation from the consultants collecting community input and activities to collect ideas and hear citizen input.
Input collected will be combined with data analysis, upcoming stakeholder input, and a statistically valid survey to support informed planning decisions. A paper survey will be mailed to randomly selected county households in the coming month. Your input will directly inform the plan’s findings, recommendations, and action steps.
