What can you expect?

Join us for the June edition of Community Drinks on Thursday, June 25th, from 17:30 to 19:00, for an evening of conversation, connection, and reflection on what it means to build inclusive communities in diverse international spaces.

Under the theme “Diverse Voices, Shared Spaces: Exploring Inclusion and Community”, this edition brings together members of The Hague’s international ecosystem to explore how diversity, belonging, accessibility, and participation shape stronger communities, workplaces, and collaborations.

As one of the world’s most internationally connected cities, The Hague is home to people from a wide range of cultural, professional, and social backgrounds. Across sectors such as human rights, peacebuilding, migration, social innovation, accessibility, arts and culture, and civil society, conversations around inclusion and representation are increasingly relevant to how communities function and grow.

This edition of Community Drinks creates an informal and welcoming space where different perspectives, lived experiences, and ideas can come together openly. Rather than approaching inclusion as a purely institutional concept, the evening focuses on the everyday practices, conversations, and connections that help people feel seen, heard, and able to participate meaningfully in shared spaces.

Through short spotlights and open discussion, we will explore questions such as:

  • How can diverse perspectives strengthen collaboration, creativity, and social impact?
  • What role do accessibility, representation, and belonging play in shaping stronger international communities?
  • How can informal spaces and networks create opportunities for connection, participation, and change?

The programme aims to foster thoughtful exchange across disciplines, sectors, and experiences — while creating space for new connections, reflection, and collaboration in a relaxed community setting.

Who are the speakers?

  • Stichting Queer Mind is a dedicated organization working to combat homelessness and insecurity among LHBTIQ+ youth in the Netherlands. With a mission to foster self-reliance and inclusion, the foundation envisions a society where everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can live safely and participate fully.
  • Gender Concerns International has the mission to promote gender equality at a policy-making level. That includes collaborating with national authorities and institutions, as well as bridging the interaction gap between local women organisations and the national policymakers.
  • Justice & Peace Netherlands is a human rights organization dedicated to defending and promoting respect for human rights and social justice globally and within the Netherlands. Their work is focused on building and strengthening local communities so that they can take action to create just, sustainable, and welcoming societies.
