-----------------------------------------
On any given day, there are 200 - 300 shelter dogs being cared for at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center, all of which are in need of daily walks and one-on-one time out of their kennels. And YOU can help!
🐾 Community Volunteer Dog walkers are needed from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center in Columbus, Ohio.
🐾 No experience? No problem!
Shelter staff will be with you every step of the way.
From selecting an appropriate dog to walk, to providing you with waste bags, treats and harness leads, we will happily assist and provide everything you need for the best possible experience and time spent walking our dogs.
(**Please leave personal leashes and collars at home.**)
🐾 VOLUNTEER DOG WALKERS:
Upon arrival, please head around back to the large fully fenced in walking yard, located in the rear of the building, enter through the gate and check in at the registration table.
(The walking yard will be on your right as you enter our driveway and is fully fenced with black wrought iron fencing. You won't be able to miss us!)

-> Wear tennis shoes (or other comfortable, sturdy walking shoes) as well as weather appropriate and comfy clothes.
-> Be sure to have your camera ready to snap photos of our adorable adoptables!
Please TAG us and use hashtag #FCDSAdoptables for all social posts.
-> This is a family friendly event! Primary dog walkers must be 18 years of age or older.
-> If you fall in love and are interested in learning more about fostering and/or adopting one of our dogs, please let a staff member know and we will happily guide you through the next steps!
-> This event is for FCDSAC shelter dogs only.
Unless you are conducting a meet and greet with a dog that you are interested in adopting, please leave owned pets at home.
**At this time, the shelter is in most need of treats for our dogs. Donations of treats are very much appreciated!**
We thank you in advance for your continued support and hope to see you soon!
