About this Event
Empowerment Squared is thrilled to host its second annual Fair and Community Cup on Friday August 28, 2026, a free outdoor celebration. We aim to welcome the Hamilton community to Corktown Park as we celebrate another summer of programming! Learn more about Empowerment Squared's programs and activities, and register for Fall programming on site.
Free features of the event will include:
Kid Zone (3:00 PM - 7:00 PM)
- Bouncy Castles
- Interactive games
- Face painter
- Bubble station
- Balloon Animals
- Raffle Prizes
Food Zone (Opens at 3:00 PM)
- Halal Snack and Beverage station
- All ages
- First come, first serve
Community Cup (3:00 PM - 6:00 PM)
- 7 vs 7 Soccer Tournament for children, youth (12-17), and adults (18+)
- Jerseys and refreshments will be provided for players
- $20 entry fee per team for adults (let us know if this is a barrier)

About Empowerment Squared
Empowerment Squared is a registered charity, founded in 2007 by CEO Leo Johnson, a Liberian refugee to Canada, who had a bold dream to build a better world and brighter future for everyone. For nearly 18 years, through education, mentorship, and empowerment, we have transformed thousands of lives locally and globally.
With the support of a team of dedicated staff, board of directors, volunteers, donors, and community partners, we have been able to stand firm on our unwavering commitment to advancing our mission in empowering newcomer, racialized and marginalized youth and families with tools and skills to reach their full potential, thrive and contribute to society.
Our holistic and cost-free programs address complex challenges such as cultural and language barriers, and wellbeing, while fostering resilience and growth.

Community Cup
Info: This year, Empowerment Squared will feature 2 soccer tournaments, for youth, and adults. For more information, complete the Show Interest Form (available below). Once we have received your form, the Sports & Recreation Team Lead will follow up with you. Please note there will be a small, sliding scale registration fee for adult participation.
