Join Bookmarks and the Forsyth County Board of Elections for the first in a series of voting rights discussions.Join Bookmarks' Book with Purpose program and the Forsyth County Board of Elections for the first in a series of discussions about voting rights. This non-partisan conversation will focus on myths and facts about the voting process, as well as the role of poll workers at voting sites.
2024 is a big year for all of us and the communities we love because of the general, state, and local elections that have happened or will happen this year. Voting gives the right to have input into how communities thrive and grow. Voting allows every voice to be heard when decisions are being made about how much funding is available for local classrooms, how resources are shared, what infrastructure projects take priority, and how resources are divided within our communities. Every person and every vote matters.
This is a free event with registration requested.

About Book with Purpose
The Book with Purpose program is a summer initiative that exists to unite the Winston-Salem community in book discussions for all ages centered around one book or central topic. In 2024 the topic is Every Person, Every Vote. The summer will be filled with programs for all ages including talks, voter registration drives, and explorations about the history of voting rights through a variety of perspectives and mediums. Throughout the summer, Bookmarks will host a conversation series on various aspects of voting rights. The Book with Purpose webpage will share a curated list of non-partisan resources, as well as information on this year’s election information, and ways to get involved. At this year's Festival of Books and Authors, Dr. Carol Anderson, will deliver the closing keynote at Calvary Moravian Church at 5:30 pm.
