Welcome to Community Conversations: Belonging in Recreation and Sports! Join us on Thursday, September 12 2024 at 5:00 PM at the Philippine Bayanihan Community Centre for an engaging discussion on the importance of inclusion and access in recreation and sports. Let's come together to share our experiences, insights, and ideas on how we can create a more welcoming and diverse community.

This is a free event. Food and refreshments will be provided. ??

Youth most welcome and encouraged to attend!

Hosted by the City of Victoria's Welcoming City Advisory Committee: Chinese Community Services Centre of Victoria, City of Victoria, REP Here In Canada, Sport for Life, Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria, Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Centre Society, Greater Victoria Public Library, and the Philippine Bayanihan Community Centre.

Kabir Hosein is the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Sport for Life. A father of four very active kids and from the Caribbean, Kabir was a leader in the Athletics Association and Olympic movement in Trinidad and Tobago. Since joining Sport for Life, he has been an integral part of the organization’s management, bringing his experiences in sport and physical activity as a newcomer to Canada into his work. Kabir takes time to build relationships and co-create initiatives that reflect his values of “physical activity and sport for everyone can create a sense of belonging.”
