Join us in person for an exciting conversation! As a prelude to the Contemporary American Authors Lecture Series’ 37th annual Bauder Lecture, the Marygrove Conservancy's Contemporary American Authors Lecture Series (CAALS) is hosting a community conversation.

Anwar Uhuru, assistant professor of African American Studies at Wayne State University, will lead a book discussion of Marlon James’s novel, A Brief History of Seven Killings, which won him the 2015 Man Booker Prize. Dr. Uhuru, is the author of the forthcoming book The Insurrectionist Case for Reparations: Race, Value, and Ethics(SUNY Press), holds a B.A. from Marygrove College and a Ph.D. from St. John’s University.
