"The ROI of Empathy”

From rejection to running a law firm: what building my business taught me about people, trust and growth

Sarah serves as a role model ,with her achievements as a lawyer and also her commitment to mentorship, inclusivity, and community service. When Sarah was recognised as Lawyer of the Year at the Modern Law Awards, it sent a powerful message.

As Sarah often says, the legal profession isn’t the same one she entered 25 years ago. Representation matters and Sarah serves as a powerful role model for other young women.

Over the last few years, since launching the SKB Law Academy, Sarah has noticed Through initiatives like the SKB Law Academy and the Aura Network, she continues to inspire the next generation of legal professionals and to champion diversity within the profession. She is an example of the difference a small firm can make! She was also awarded the Yorkshire Lawyer of the Year award in 2023.

Anita Pickersgill FCICM started running these events as a way of paying it back and also paying it forward she is passionate about helping small, ambitious growing businesses thrive. Winner of the Jenny Oldfield Supporting Women in Credit Award in 2022 she really is a commercial debt collector with a heart, helping promote the understanding of what credit management means for smaller businesses and why it iso important when it comes to late payment and debt collection.

Anita has been asked so many times over the years how she became a debt collector that she decided to write a book which is due to come out in the summer.

This meeting is a place where you can come along without your corporate mask, it is ok to have a bad hair day, feel yuk day, need someone to lift you up or share some frustrations with day.

Fusing taking care of yourself with taking care of business makes perfect sense to us.

Have a problem but cannot quite put your figure on it, lost your mojo or direction a bit , juggling the children and your partner plus your own business can be empowering, exhausting and also quite scary.

Join us to talk about what you do, what you want to do, grow your network, you are one person working in your business, whilst at the same time living your none work life.

We grow organically, our ladies want to help other ladies grow thier business and themselves, sharing knowledge and skills.

Every attendee will receive a gratitude bag as we know your time is precious and by giving us your time you are helping us build something special
