As we enter the new year, why not come and enjoy a day in nature and soak in the incredible views the South Coast has to offer?! This is a great opportunity to learn all about our unique dune ecosystems, discover why they are so important and help protect these native habitats. These sites are identified as Key Native Ecosystems (KNE).
The mahi (work) will involve: dune restoration, helping tāonga (treasure) grass species such as Pīngao thrive by protecting them from invasive weeds, and clearing rubbish that can harm wildlife or end up in our waterways.
*Multiple dates to chose from; each day visiting different dunelands across the East and South Coast of Wellington.
This project is funded and supported by Wellington City Council.
