FREE Community Water Safety & Drowning Prevention Clinic

Community Connections of Long Island, in collaboration with Westbury Fire Department and Black People Will Swim, proudly invites you to our 3rd Annual FREE Water Safety and Drowning Prevention Clinic — a fun, educational event for all ages!

We’re saving lives, promoting health, and teaching critical water safety skills to the community. Whether you're new to the water or looking to build confidence, we have something for everyone.

9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Water Safety Course in partnership with Westbury Fire Department (Adults only)

9:00 AM – 10:15 AM
Lifeguarding Introduction for ages 15 and up

10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Swim Lessons (Grouped by Age)

Ages 2–6

Ages 7–12

Ages 13–17

Adults 18+

Led by Paulana Lamonier of Black People Will Swim, this clinic offers an inclusive, welcoming environment for all swim levels.

Info: Arrival time 8:30am. Taught by the Westbury Fire Department, this hands-on session is perfect for child care providers, educators, coaches, and anyone who works with kids. Learn the basics of CPR and water safety to stay prepared and protect others in emergencies.

Info: Arrival time 8:30am. Learn steps to become a lifeguard, from certification and safety skills to career opportunities in lifeguarding and swim instruction.

Info: Arrival time 10:00am. Swim safety, confidence in water, boat capsize survival, life jacket drills, and rescuer skills.
