Community Concert with The Grandsons and Rocklands BBQ

THE BAND: The award winning Grandsons bring with them a pawn shop of instruments. Vocalist-guitarist-trumpeter Alan MacEwen charms audiences with his sly wit and winsome original songs. DC blues veteran Matthew Sedgley locks in the groove on drums and percussion. Saxophonist Chris Watling puts out a sound so meaty and memorable that he is in demand all over as a guest artist and session player. Moe Nelson holds down the low end on upright bass, but has been known to break out the ukulele.

The Grandsons have performed sold-out shows at the Barns of Wolf Trap, appeared at Austin’s South by Southwest Music Festival, The Rocky Gap Festival, The Bethlehem PA Musikfest, The Kennedy Center, and North Carolina’s popular Black Mountain and Bele Chere Festivals. We're excited to have this group on The Social Hall Stage @ Palisades Hub.

TIME: doors @ 7 pm| music @ 8 (Big open room for dancing.)

FOOD: A Rockland BBQ food truck will be set up from 6-8:30 pm for purchasing dinner before the show. We have a few picnic tables outside. (Food allowed inside, too.)

DRINK: No worries about an expensive bar tab here... it’s BYOL ( bring your libation of choice).

TICKETS: Online & at the door. Cash, check and Venmo available. No credit cards (yet ...)

TRANSPORT & PARKING: easy parking on street, one block from the D6 bus stop on MacArthur Blvd NW

HEALTH & SAFETY: Your safety is very important to us. All attendees will be required to show proof of full vaccination against COVID 19 (paper or digital photo) or a negative COVID test result within the past 72 hours. Masks are required when not actively eating or drinking. The room is large and can hold up to two hundred people, but we are keeping ticket sales at 50% capacity or less.
