Hi, I’m Burl, welcome to CC. The following structure, topics etc. has just been born and will likely evolve over the next weeks to months. Comments, suggestions, whatever, are appreciated.
CC is a community for connection and fellowship to share experience, support and hope with each other to grow our common and unique struggles and help each other achieve presence and peace with life.
Things shared in CC are completely confidential in order to allow for authenticity.
There are no requirements for attendance or participation.
These meetings are offered on a donation basis. My primary desire is to create community and fellowship for myself! I need this in my life. Secondarily, I hope that it resonates with others and we can form a fulfilling community for anyone who needs it. I want people to be here even if donating does not feel good, for any reason. That said, it’s been no small feat getting here and creating this and I am also here to share my gifts and provide something valuable and appreciated as such.
CC is not affiliated with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution and will not engage in any controversy or endorse or oppose any causes.
My hope is this group helps us attain more presence through peace in our lives, connect with others and help each other to these ends.
How it works:
Humans need connection and fellowship. Alone most of us are unhappy and unwell.
Our shares are to disclose in a general way our histories, formative events, how we have grown and current struggles, joys, needs, etc. The container I hold is one based on the experience that there is hope for healing and happiness and there are things to help with suffering, that aren’t addictive or life taking. And that beyond that we all still need more community and connection than most of us are getting in the day to day..
When lost in suffering I did not trust healing would happen or that I would ever feel good about my life. I was hopeless and skeptical that anything would work for me. This perpetuated continuing ignorance, sadly. It is my hope that the sharing, normalizing and human commonalities found here will help others get unstuck more quickly and with less pain than I experienced. Likewise, for others who have experienced mental health healing, to be able to share the gifts of that experience and fortify that strength by supporting others.
We all have to deal with hardships, no one gets out unscathed. But when supported we all can grow and thrive.
False senses of security do exist. They are not wrong imo but only lead to more suffering in the end. There are no failures, only lessons and we’re all doing the best we can with the knowledge and resources we have at the moment.
Here is what I have found to be universal on the path and thus my lens on growth and the perspective I hold:
1. As life gets harder at some point we lose our ability to be able to cope.
2. If we are lucky, we are brought to our knees with suffering to the point we have no choice but to surrender.
3. From surrender we begin to see how we are in fact held and begin to develop a sense of trust in life, in the human process and a shedding of the ego.
4. From trust and humility we can begin to appreciate the amazing gifts and blessings we had and have.
5. From appreciation we can see with honesty and free from blame, the damage we have done.
6. From honesty and freedom from shame we are able to admit and accept the damage we have done and appreciate our and others' trying, humility.
7. From acceptance we can face, release and repair where possible.
8. From trust, release and humility we are able to eliminate harmful patterns more and more.
9. Now we can walk through the world harming less, repairing more readily when damage is done and repairing past harm as appropriate.
10. This newfound feeling of freedom, humility and trust feels so good we are internally motivated to continue this way and therefore can grow more so each moment.
11. Now when we feel lost we can trust the wisdom of how to tap back into a sense of connection and trust so as not to continue on a downward spiral.
12. This process is an awakening and motivates us to help others along this path, with the knowledge that we are all connected and matter in the wellbeing of the whole.
