Capoeira & Maculelê – Celebrating Zumbi and Black Consciousness Day
Join us for a powerful celebration of Dia de Zumbi e da Consciência Negra (Black Consciousness Day) through the vibrant Afro-Brazilian traditions of Capoeira and Maculelê!
This special event honors the legacy of Zumbi dos Palmares, a symbol of resistance, freedom, courage, and the ongoing struggle for Black liberation and equality in Brazil.
Through the movement, music, rhythm, and energy of Capoeira and Maculelê, we celebrate the strength, resilience, creativity, and cultural contributions of African and Afro-Brazilian communities.
Experience the powerful movements of Capoeira, the rhythmic energy of Maculelê, the sounds of traditional instruments, and the spirit of community that brings these traditions to life.
More than a performance, this is an opportunity to learn, connect, celebrate, and honor the history and cultural heritage that continue to inspire generations.
Come celebrate culture, resistance, identity, and freedom with us!
