Communication Specialist Training Course at the CommLab

Through a partnership with Flight Vector, Complete Flight, Xybix, AXIS, and CommLink Network, the CommLab is a 2-day didactic learning, scenario-based training and situational evaluation environment for Communication Specialists. Training consists, but is not limited to the following:

• Situational awareness, coordination and effective communication within the Communications Center environment.
• Teamwork and effective group coordination.
• Enhanced mapping skills and flight following.
• Safety-related procedures.
• Industry-related collaboration.
• Live interaction with an on-site pilot-flown simulator.
• Observation of an on-site Operational Control Center while learning about collaboration between the OCC, the pilot and the Communications Specialist.
• Facility tour of live rotor-wing aircraft assembly and completion process.

Lodging/Transport:

Participants should plan to fly into Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV).

Please make your hotel reservations at Hilton Shreveport ($96). Request the Metro rate when reserving. The hotel will provide a shuttle to/from the Helicopter Flight Training Center at Metro Aviation.
