Practical tools to stay calm, set boundaries, and respond without things blowing up.
About this Event

If every conversation with your ex feels tense, reactive, or draining… you’re not alone.

You might find yourself:

  • Replaying conversations afterward thinking “I should have said that differently”
  • Walking on eggshells to avoid conflict
  • Getting pulled into the same arguments over and over again
  • Feeling overwhelmed, triggered, or guilty every time you have to respond

And even when you’re trying your best to keep things calm… it still escalates.

Not because you don’t know what to say.
But because in those moments, your nervous system takes over.

This workshop is here to help you step out of that cycle.

What you’ll walk away with

You’ll leave with practical, usable tools. Not just insight, but things you can actually apply right away.

✔ You’ll know what to say and how to say it without escalating the situation
✔ You’ll learn how to regulate your nervous system so you’re not reacting in the moment
✔ You’ll leave with 2 to 3 scripts you can use in your next conversation
✔ You’ll understand how to set boundaries that don’t fuel more conflict

What we’ll cover

This is a blend of emotional regulation and real-life communication tools.

With Brittany (divorce therapist):

  • Why communication with your ex can feel so emotionally intense
  • How your nervous system responds in conflict
  • Simple, practical ways to regulate before you respond
  • Understanding emotional triggers and guilt cycles

With Shauna (divorce coach):

  • The BIFF method (Brief, Informative, Friendly, Firm)
  • Scripts you can use in real conversations
  • Communication tools and apps
  • Clear, effective co-parenting boundaries

Who this is for

This workshop is for you if:

  • You’re separated, divorced, or actively co-parenting
  • You still have to communicate with your ex
  • You want to feel calmer, clearer, and more confident in those interactions

This workshop is not a fit if:
  • You are currently in an active domestic violence situation
  • You are no longer in communication with your ex

What to expect

This is a practical, skills-based workshop.

We’ll talk about emotional triggers, but this is not group therapy. You will not be asked to share anything you don’t want to.

You’re welcome to participate at your own pace and take what feels helpful.
