About this Event
We're taking Crisis Communication learnings to the next level!
Join us for a riveting lunch-and-learn with Mandy Maier, a Senior Communications Advisor with the Saskatchewan RCMP.
Mandy will share what she’s learned over her years working in law enforcement communications – when every day is unique and they are always preparing for potential crisis situations. Touching on crisis comms as a whole, and drawing on specific examples from real-life scenarios, this event is sure to be insightful, informative and deliver the wow-factor you’re looking for.
Mandy is a Saskatchewan farm girl who’s worked in law enforcement communications for over 12 years with the RCMP.
She has served as spokesperson for homicides, missing persons and serious and sensitive investigations and written hundreds of media releases. She works with RCMP detachments and senior management and prepares them to speak with reporters, at town halls and everything in between. She’s part of the team who’s delivered communications for multiple mass casualty investigations, homicides, dangerous persons and AMBER Alerts.
Mandy was honoured with the Government of Canada’s Master Storyteller of the Year award for producing the RCMP’s first podcast and the CRTC Prize for Excellence for her Master’s research on emergency public alerting in Canada.
