Next pop up! Saturday, May 11 from 1-3pm at Park Fair Mall Suite 107. We've got lots of spring and summer goodies for you to scope out. We always enthusiastically welcome trans, non-binary, queer folks and our affirming friends of all ages, races, sizes, and abilities to explore/find clothing that is gender-affirming and brings joy. Join us in creating a fun, loving, and judgment-free shopping space.
This is a mutual aid project, it is not charity. Everything at the pop up is free for folks to take as much or as little as you want. If you've got access to money and would like to donate, all financial donations go back into purchasing items for folks. If you can't find what you're looking for, we'll buy it or source it for you from the community.
We're thrilled to have Max the Doula (he/they) at the event to ask your questions on all things gender and transition! This is a great time to ask quick questions, receive support, and learn how to be an ally to Trans, Nonbinary, and Gender Diverse people. You'll also find Annie (they/he) the director of the Queer Youth Resource Center (QYRC) at the event supporting Max with binder fittings and slinging resources!
Shout out to our friends offering rad services during the event: Naoma (they/them) giving make-up advice, Kyra (they/them) offering voice coaching, and Kaitlyn (she/her) doing quick alterations for your clothes!
Some logistics about the space: There will be a few changing stations to try items on and two gender-neutral bathrooms. Park by the main entrance of Park Fair Mall near Ace Hardware. Come in the main entrance and head down the elevator, stairs, or escalator to suite 107 (home of Central Iowa Center for Independent Living (CICIL)).
Thank you to all of the people who have helped collect and sort clothing and who will be supporting the event on May 11! We are community-led, by the people for the people.
