Common Ground Conference Program
The Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE)
COPE is an immersive simulation that puts you in the shoes of someone facing poverty. You will experience the challenges of finding housing, accessing healthcare, commuting to work, and managing your finances. It’s a chance to see how complex and exhausting everyday decisions can be when resources are limited.
Catered Lunch & Guided Debrief Session
Over lunch, we’ll reflect on our experience together. This is a space to share insights, ask questions, and envision our next steps.
Community Training and Collaboration
Connect with local organizations tackling poverty and systemic injustice in Memphis, such as CDN, World Relief, The Joshua Project, Woodland Recovery, and more, and discover practical ways to get involved through volunteering and advocacy. Hear directly from community partners about the impactful initiatives already happening in our area—and how you can be part of the change.
Attendee Cost: $60 per person. (Certificates of Participation are available upon request.)
Volunteer Rate: $30 per person
This one-day event is a chance to come together, inspire real change, and work side by side for a more just and caring community. Let’s join forces to build something stronger and more connected. We can’t do it without you.
