Commemorating America250 & Exploring the American Dream
About this Event
Two hundred and fifty years ago, a declaration was made. It was bold, it was visionary, and it was unfinished. Today, that work continues — and it belongs to all of us.
Join the Connecticut Commission on Women, Children, Seniors, Equity and Opportunity for a two-day in-person event commemorating America250 and exploring what the American Dream means in 2026 and beyond. Through panel discussions, community art, music, spoken word, and honest conversation, we will reflect on where we've been, examine where we are, and imagine together where we want to go.
The theme for June 30 is Defining a New American Dream
The theme for July 1 is Why Civics Matters: 2026 Edition
This event is for everyone — residents, students, educators, community leaders, advocates, and anyone who cares about the health of our democracy and the future of our communities. Whether you come to listen, to learn, to share your story, or simply to connect, there is a place for you here.
Each day is from 9:30am to 2:30pm.
Space is limited and registration is required. We hope to see you there.
Come ready to engage. Come ready to imagine. Come ready to be part of something.
