About this Event
🌈🎤 In celebration of Charlotte’s Pride Month, join us for a powerful evening of storytelling, poetry, and collective reflection at Coming Out to Become: Stories of Queer Identity and Liberation—a special edition of the Charlotte Thrives Storytelling Workshop & Open Mic.
This event honors the sacred, nonlinear journey of queer becoming—how we shed what confines us and step more fully into our truth, joy, and liberation.
Co-facilitated by Libba Moore and Zulynette, the evening will feature a performance by Zulynette, a dynamic poet, visual artist, and healing-focused creative whose work centers identity, social change, and finding the medicine in our stories. Her storytelling and poetry will serve as both anchor and invitation for others to explore their own narratives.
The evening will include:
🌿 A grounding opening activity
📝 Guided journaling prompts
🎤 A featured performance by Zulynette
🎙️ An open mic for community members to share personal stories of queerness, becoming, and liberation
This space is open to all identities and expressions, with a focus on uplifting queer voices and experiences during this meaningful time for Charlotte’s LGBTQ+ community.
