Why talk about psychedelics?
Millions of people have had meaningful, healing, or life-changing psychedelic experiences—yet many keep those stories private. Fear of judgment or professional stigma can make it difficult to speak openly about something so personal and profound.

If you’ve ever wondered how to tell your mom, talk with your partner, or share your experience with a close friend without being dismissed or rejected, this event is for you.

Join our panel of speakers as they share their real-life experiences navigating conversations about psychedelics with friends, family, partners, and communities. You’ll hear different perspectives, practical strategies, and honest lessons learned about when to speak up, how to communicate thoughtfully, and how to handle skepticism or discomfort with compassion.

Whether you’re new to psychedelics or have carried these experiences quietly for years, you’ll leave with greater confidence to talk about your journey in a way that feels authentic and grounded.

We believe conversations about psychedelics can reduce stigma, deepen human connection, and help create a more compassionate culture—one that supports healing, education, and future legal access.

This event is free to attend.

Founder, The Shroom Room Chicago

Toni Bush is a DMV native and Chicago-based creative, poet, event organizer and mushroom enthusiast. She is the founder of The Shroom Room Chicago, dedicated to educating and inspiring the community through accurate, engaging information about mushrooms—their health benefits, culinary versatility, and ecological importance. Joe Caldwell

Therapist & Harm Reductionist, Therapy with Joe

Joe is a social worker x harm reductionist who swore to his family he'd never become a therapist... and then became a therapist. He has spent years building and supporting harm reduction movements across the rural Midwest and now splits time between Chicago and Colorado supporting clients in integrating psychedelic experiences. He believes the systems meant to help people are often the ones hurting them most, and is doing something about it.

Monera Mason
Mom & Movement Maker
Currently Headmaze, Previously Naropa & Meow Wolf

Monera Mason arrived from the future to do what needed doing.

Mischief-maker. Temple builder. Caller of students into the counterculture and caller-out of institutions that forgot their own names.

A contemplative strategist and modern babaylan — carrier of Filipino wisdom lineages and Six Sigma — she maps grief into hailstorms, gamifies enlightenment, and teaches executives that play is the most serious thing there is. She produces worlds for thousands and holds space for one. Both are the same work.

Ritual developer. Immersive producer. Wisdom holder from the lineage of the future.

She is not waiting for permission. She is the permission.

Currently turning Chicago into an Alternative Reality Game (ARG), one guild at a time. The game is already in progress. You are already playing.

By ancient authority and future mandate, she hereby blesses this work as necessary, inevitable, and overdue

Mylee BlakePsychedelic Guide & Filmmaker, TransSiren

The first step of coming out of the psychedelic closet is a bio. This is mine. I’ve been a cosmic explorer since I was a teenager, finding myself entrenched in the direct and adjacent psychedelic art scenes. I'm a filmmaker, visual artist, experience designer, and a pretty good cook. Expect me to ask good questions of our panel, inspire some laughs, and hopefully help some minds open up farther than they were before.
