Coming Home to Your Body - Somatic Day Retreat
What would it feel like to spend a day experiencing your body -rather than thinking about how it looks?
As part of The Human Gallery exhibition, we're creating something a little different.
Coming Home to Your Body is a unique, intimate, mixed-gender somatic day retreat exploring body image beyond appearance through movement, music, creativity, connection, reflection and being witnessed.
For one day, we're stepping away from how our bodies look, how they compare and whether we believe they're acceptable - and getting curious about what it feels like to actually live in them.
And there is absolutely no expectation to love your body.
You don't need to feel confident. You don't need to know how to dance. You don't need experience with somatic practices, meditation or sharing circles.
Curiosity is enough.
Rather than moving from workshop to workshop, the retreat has been designed as one continuous, spacious experience, collaboratively held by four experienced women:
✨ Katharina Thoma - The Human Gallery
Connection, reflection & optional intimate portrait experience
✨ Jody Brown - Somatic Dance Facilitator
Movement, embodiment & exploration
✨ LadyFem - Somatic Dance DJ
Music, sound & movement journey
✨ Sonya Lyn - Sharing Circle Facilitator
Reflection, meditation & gently held sharing
Throughout the day, you're invited to follow your own experience.
Move. Rest. Create. Connect. Spend time alone. Listen. Share. Be photographed, or don't.
This retreat is intentionally open to all genders, bodies and lived experiences. We want to create a space where different relationships with the body can exist alongside one another - whether you feel connected to yours, disconnected from it, are navigating change, learning acceptance, or simply curious.
The group will be kept small, allowing space for genuine connection while giving everyone room to move through the day in their own way.
