Embodied inquiry through the somatic movement practice Continuum, inspired by „The 7 Homecomings“ taught by buddhist teacher Lama Rod Owens
About this Event

You are warmly invited to join me for this Continuum session inspired by „The Seven Homecomings“ as taught by buddhist teacher and activist Lama Rod Owens.

In an embodied practice of returning to ourselves, and of reminding ourselves of all of the ways in which we are being held and supported at all times, we will play with sound, breath and movement in order to explore each of the seven layers of „homecoming“ in a nourishing and centering Continuum dive.

Continuum is a somatic practice of self-exploration (founded by Emilie Conrad) that uses sound, breath and movement in order to connect deeply with ourselves and our fluid nature. It is a way to nurture ourselves, to open up spaces for curiosity and play, to loosen the grip of our habitual tensions and movement patterns, and to access the self-regulatory capacities of the body. We can slow down, calm the nervous system and find deep rest; and we are invited to experience the ongoing processes of our bodies as wordless cosmic poetry and creative expression.

Language: The workshop will be held in English and/or in German, depending on the needs of the group. Please let me know at check-out if you have a specific need or preference.

Venue: The event takes place at the studio of Skinship - a touch-based place for kinship, in Berlin Friedrichshain.

PLEASE KNOW THAT THIS IS A QUEER-CENTERING SPACE - created primarily as a saf(er) space for our LGBTQA siblings. As long as you know and respect that, EVERYBODY IS WELCOME, regardless of gender identification or sexual orientation, if you see yourself as an ally. If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to get in touch. <3

Jo Koppe is a Berlin-based queer somatic explorer, facilitator and authorized Continuum teacher through the Continuum Teachers Association.

He draws inspiration from many different sources; what he teaches and offers is always also a reflection of his own processes of making meaning in a complex world, as well as his wish to weave the themes and questions that occupy him into an invitation for shared inquiry.

He studied Sociology and Gender Studies as well as Dance. In the past, he has worked as a workshop facilitator, dancer and dramaturg, personal assistant for people with disabilities, end-of-life companion, in discrimination-critical education, and as an editor and translator. He is currently in training in Integrative Bodywork in Graz.

He loves to create spaces that support us in reconnecting — with ourselves, with one another, and with the world around us. His work is guided by the desire to cultivate respect for aliveness, to acknowledge diversity, and to remember our deep interwovenness with all life on Earth.
