Did you know? Wisconsin, the first Gay Rights State, now ranks second in book banning nationwide.Since 2020, Wisconsin schools and libraries have seen requests to remove over 2,000 books from their collections. Over 600 books were formally restricted or removed; many because of their positive and supportive LGBTQ representation. This erasure has tremendous damage on LGBTQ people questioning their identities -- and families who seek to support them.
This fall, the Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project is proud to stand with PFLAG to support parents, friends, and families of LGBTQ people at every step of their journey.
