Bam! Pow! Boom! Comic Book in a Day returns on January 17, 2026!
Give yourself a fun and creative challenge as you spend the day making your own comic book from scratch! This Challenge includes divisions for adults/teens, youth, and even an online-only division. People of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels are encouraged to sign up - no experience needed!
Those who participate in the challenge will receive supplies for making their comic book, a boxed lunch, and coaching from professional comic book artists. AND, after the challenge, we collect everyone's art and print it as a comic anthology, and each contestant receives a copy!
This year's professional artist judges include:
Stuart Sayger, known for Lego: Bionicle, KISS, Joker: Year of the Villain, Red Sonja, and more.
Gavin Smith, known for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Trek, Accelerators, Human City and more.
Jackie Crofts, known for Nutmeg, The 16mm Club, A Familiar Recipe, and for her public art.
Professional artists Erik Lundorf and Victor Dandridge will also host the event and provide coaching and support to contestants.
We are also eager to welcome comic fans of all kinds to meet our professional comic book artist judges, to explore other comic-themed activities at the Ignite Studio, and to marvel at the amazing work made by each of the contestants.
We even have a special VIP night for anyone 21+ who loves comics, or just wants to send a fun night out with creative people!
