A one of a kind comedy event in a premier yet intimate venue, Underground Comedy presents The Comedy Penthouse. Featuring always fresh, top-notch talent and creative food and drink menus with a touch of class, this curated show is the comedy connoisseurs choice every month! 

This month's headliner is the 2025 Funniest Person in Iowa contest winner, Melanie Mackey! 

She's had her toe in everything from improv, sketch, and Burlesque but her main skillset is stand up comedy. Melanie Mackey has been featured all over the Midwest including Des Moines Tee-Hees Comedy Club, the Des Moines Funnybone and small clubs and independent shows making a name for herself. From her experiences growing up in Iowa as a Filipina-American to astrology, brunch, and , Mels comedy runs the gamut of true life experience and observation with wit and charm and maybe a little snark. 

With Mel are features Kate Thompson, Mara Hansen, Maggie Fitzpatrick, Meg McMichael and host Megan Ellis.
