Comedy Night for new building fundraiser!

Brian Apprille is a stand-up comedian, voice actor, and motivational speaker who performs across America for comedy clubs, businesses, churches, and any audience who wants to laugh or hear an inspiring story.

Brian, a clean comic, recently filmed his comedy special for Dry Bar Comedy and has shared the stage with some of comedy’s biggest names. He’s appeared on NBC, Sprint TV and AOL’s “Comedy Spotlight.” He is also the winner of the 2016 Clean Comedy Festival and the 2019 CCA Comedy Contest. Critics describe him as “brilliantly entertaining,” and “coast-to-coast funny!” Brian is best known for his high-energy comedy and impressions; he has been dubbed “The Man with A Thousand Voices” and throughout his performances slips between Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin, Alan Rickman and hundreds of other characters both real-life and animated.

Brian’s career took a turn for the serious in 2009 when he developed facial paralysis as a result of a rare disease called Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. He found humor in the midst of his challenges and got back on the stage after over a year of fighting Ramsay Hunt Syndrome’s debilitating symptoms.

Now an activist and a comic at once, Brian raises awareness of facial paralysis and inspires hope in fellow suffers with plenty of belly-laugh healing along the way. He founded San Diego’s first facial paralysis support group and has appeared on NBC’s Inspiring San Diego to share his story. Brian now gives inspirational speeches to corporate, church and a variety of other audiences all over the country.

Lisa Gilbert started her stand-up career in her hometown of San Diego, CA. Married late in life and as a wife and mother, Lisa is a crowd favorite with her clean comedy style and family funny jokes.

Her stories and ability to find humor in the everyday is perfect for every occasion.

Lisa performs all over, hosting, speaking at events in churches, comedy clubs and private parties.

Matin Atrushi’s parents were Kurdish political refugees from Northern Iraq, forced out by Saddam Hussein’s troops where they escaped to Bismarck, North Dakota. His fascination with comedy began at an early age as the family would gather around and watch John Ritter on “Three’s Company” although the young boy’s parents barely spoke English.

Matin first tried stand-up comedy at the age of 24 in a small coffee shop in Los Angeles and has been at it ever since. He has since shared the stage with comedy legends such as Robin Williams and Chris Rock. He is a comedian with a unique perspective into the everyday life of being Middle Eastern in America today.

Matin broadened his comedy reach by making comedy sketches online. His videos have accumulated over 15 million views on YouTube, and he has appeared SyFy’s show “Viral Video Showdown”, Fox TV’s show, “Laughs”, and he has just finished filming a documentary about comedy with Russell Peters.

When asked about why he does comedy, Matin says: “I’m trying to show another side of Middle Eastern people. We’re the same. We really like comedy, too. I really enjoy making people laugh.”
