Joe Wong is a powerhouse of Asian comedy. His standup performance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the most watched set in the history of the show. He also roasted Joe Biden at the White House for the TV and radio correspondents’ association dinner.
Joe appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman four times and Ellen Degeneres says he is her favourite comedian. He now hosts the popular Chinese TV show Is it true? And is one of the biggest touring comedians in Asia.
In this special Joe talks about his own experience dealing with anti-Asian racism in America the denial and willful ignorance which laid the groundwork for the Covid-19 related hate crimes and the discrimination against Asian immigrants throughout US history.
“Being an Asian immigrant means I’m at the receiving end of both racism and xenophobia sometimes even from my own child” says Joe.
