Born in the Midwest during the bell-bottom era of the 1970s, James grew up surrounded by country music, Catholic school discipline, and a parade of questionable haircuts. After being fired from a string of “McJobs,” he found his true calling in stand-up comedy—and he’s been making audiences laugh ever since.

James has headlined comedy clubs across the country and was featured in the “New Faces of Comedy” showcase at the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. His TV credits include Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, CMT’s Comedy Stage, and Dry Bar Comedy, where his special Rurally Funny continues to earn rave reviews.

He’s toured nationally with the Blue Collar Comedy Tour in Paying For The New Trailer, sharing the stage with legends like Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy, and was a featured act on The Slackers Tour alongside Reno Collier and Pat Dixon.

James’s comedy is smart, clean, and deeply honest—focusing on the universal theme of failure and the humor found in everyday life. He’s a master of turning awkward moments into unforgettable punchlines, all while keeping it clever and crowd-friendly.
