About this Event
Atheer Yacoub is a New York-based comedian and writer with a Palestinian-Muslim upbringing straight out of Alabama. She recently released her comedy album, Denied Entry, where she navigates the treacherous waters of growing up in the Middle East and the South. She's been seen on Comedy Central Arabia for a half-hour special, AXSTV’s Gotham Comedy Live, and is a frequent guest on Sirius XM. You can stream her award-winning sketch show Muslim Girls DTF: Discuss Their Faith, which is now streaming on Fuse TV. Atheer can be found touring the country and internationally.
Vanessa Dawn is a comedian from Tulsa, Oklahoma who now makes the left coast her home. Her relaxed comedy style sneaks up on you like an unmarked car at a DUI check point. She has performed in the Seattle International Comedy Competition, Blue Whale Comedy Festival, Black Girls Giggles Comedy Festival and performs at clubs and casinos from San Diego to Seattle.
Dan Hurwitz: He’s disabled, Black, Jewish, a good cook, a bad basketball player, and, mostly, really really funny. A Seattle-based comedian, writer, and filmmaker, Dan was voted Best of Fest at both the Burbank Comedy Festival and Jersey City Comedy Festival and was a semifinalist in the 2023 edition of the 40+ year-running Seattle International Comedy Competition. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dan used the time stuck at home to co-write, co-direct, and eventually co-star in This is Spinal Injury, a mockumentary about the trials of disabled artists in quarantine, which later premiered at the Northwest Film Forum’s Local Sightings Film Festival in 2021.
Along with his creative endeavors, Dan also is a producer of the annual Disabled List Comedy Festival and was a 2023 keynote speaker at the Association of People Supporting Employment First.
The daughter of Seattle comedy icon Cliff Barnes, A-Queen’s own brand of laughs has been continuing his legacy while pioneering her own for over a decade. Or, if we’re being real, for pretty much her whole life.
She’s a comedian, writer, actor, singer, and even an ordained minister — and as you’d expect, this range gives her a uniquely versatile set of tools on stage. She brings impeccably-written storytelling to life with gut-busting physicality and vocal impressions, all dotted with improvised pops of hilarity that catch you off guard. Along with being a producer at Comedy on Broadway, her multifaceted performing talent has led to her opening for legends like SNL alum Jay Pharoah, Zack Fox, Laurie Kilmartin, Nate Jackson, Ty Barnett, and loads of others.
