"An inspiring, highly relevant and heartwarming audience pleaser"The film very effectively and touchingly gives voice to a man with a mild intellectual disability. It is in a way a coming of age film, about inclusion and diversity, far away from the wars and conflicts of this time, and with a massive heart.

Synopsis
Ola is a 30-year-old man who lives in a small village in Norway with a very diverse group of people. They try to live life at a slower pace in harmony with nature, and their community is founded on values such as empathy, respect, and mutual interdependence.
Ola generally enjoys his life and is an engaged, witty, and sincere individual. He has a mild intellectual disability, and he reflects very openly about his condition. When Ola loses an important aspect of his life, he reflects on his existence and considers how he can become more self-reliant.
«Being Ola» is an endearing portrait of an exceptional young man who puts his heart into striving for equality, acceptance, and independence. It's an impactful film that helps bridge the gap between 'us' and 'them', and it explores the importance of freedom of speech, specifically for individuals with disabilities. «Being Ola» is a coming of age story, far away from the wars and conflicts of this time, and with a massive heart.
The film is produced by Einar Film. They produce both documentaries and fictional features (most recently «Handling The Undead» which premiered at Sundance starring Renate Reinsve, Cannes Best Actress winner 2021). Check out www.einarfilm.no.
