Come along and celebrate Beltane! 🔥Hosted by Familiar Grove, we will come together to celebrate Beltane the third spring celebration which marks the midpoint between spring and summer and symbolizes fire, renewal, fertility, good fortune, welcoming abundance and love into our lives 🌸
We will create sacred space, cleanse and ground ourselves as we acknowledge our ancestors and the ancestors of the land. This sacred circle will be held in Dharawal Country, and we pay our respect to Elders, past and present and to any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who might join us.
Bring along:
✨ Food for a picnic feast to share with others.
✨ Musical instruments/drums.
✨ Poetry to recite.
✨ A head wreath to wear if you have one or either real of reusable flowers/foliage/items and make one to wear before the celebration starts 🌼
Please meet at the “Eucalyptus Garden” within the Botanical gardens at 1:00pm.
The ritual will last approximately an hour, there will be wreath making beforehand and talking, poetry reciting and feasting after.
This is free for the community; children are welcome under supervision and must not disturb others participating.
This is a peaceful celebration and no untoward behaviour will be tolerated.
Please note that in the event of wet weather this event will be cancelled.
There is a concrete path to the site however, to get to the Eucalyptus Garden (by Towri Bush Tucker Garden) you will need to walk along a grassed area. Park on Murphys Ave, nearest cross road is Braeside Ave and use the gate opposite.
