The Ethan Allen Homestead Museum's Free Monthly Lecture Series presents: "Combined Arms in the Civil War: How Union Artillery and Infantry won the Civil War" by historian Robert GrandchampLECTURE TOPIC
During the Civil War, Union field artillery was considered the premiere arm of the Federal forces. In a span of four short years, field artillery developed from a largely ineffective force to one capable of delivering long range precision fire support. This talk will focus on how Rhode Island Artillery and Vermont Infantry developed a close working relationship and ensured Union victory in the Civil War.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Robert Grandchamp is the award winning author of fifteen books on American military history. He earned his Master's in American History from Rhode Island College. A senior analyst with the Federal government, he resides in Jericho Center with his wife Elizabeth and their three children.

The Homestead Monthly Lecture Program is free, (though donations are accepted at the door). It covers various topics pertaining to Vermont history, early American history, and the Homestead site. Each lecture is followed by Q&A with the presenter.
