Columbus Book Festival featuring Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw

Saturday, July 12 at 1 p.m.
Main Library
Auditorium (1st floor)

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw is a pioneering scholar and writer on civil rights, Black feminist legal theory, race, racism and is a Distinguished Professor of Law at Columbia University. She is known for introducing and developing the concept of intersectionality and hosts the podcast, Intersectionality Matters!

Backtalker traces Kimberlé’s journey from Canton, Ohio, to global influence, weaving personal history with pivotal moments in U.S. culture and law. The memoir offers an intimate portrait of a scholar whose lifelong practice of “talking back” helped shape conversations on race, gender, and power.
