Curated and performed by Malini Awasthi, one of India’s most acclaimed folk artists, ‘Colours of UP’ brings alive the state’s musical richness through melodies rooted in classical nuance and lyrical storytelling.

From vintage Thumri and Dadra to Kajri, Chaiti, Holi songs, Rasiya, Nautanki, devotional Bhajans, and Qawwalis, each composition carries the fragrance of its land and the rhythm of its people. Known for her soulful renditions and deep-rooted scholarship, Awasthi bridges classical and folk traditions, creating an experience that feels both personal and universal.
A Padma Shri recipient and Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee, she has represented India’s folk heritage on global stages, from London’s Southbank Centre to the Festival of India in Mauritius, and continues her mission through Sonchiraiya—an initiative empowering rural and tribal artists across the country.
