Let's paint colorful palm trees in this workshop led by local artist, Sherry Woodward!
Let loose and let the colors lead the way as you create beautiful paintings with colors that WOW! Sherry will guide participants from start to finish. This stress-free class is open to beginner artists to working artists and everyone in between!
About this workshop
Let's explore the world of color! Using a wide range of colors, participants will create their own palm tree acrylic paintings! Each student will complete four 6"x6" color studies using a different palette for each. Sherry will guide participants on how to loosen up and have fun with new and exciting color combinations.
Workshop Highlights:
- Practice painting "negative space"
- Learn how painting layers creates texture and more opportunities to make interesting marks
- Explore the color wheel and learn how to make color choices.
- Have fun and be creative!
Materials:
Material fee of $10 cash can be brought the day of the event to cover all materials needed. Want to bring your own? A material list will be emailed to you upon registration.
About the instructor: Sherry Woodward
Sherry is a self-taught artist, and art teacher living in San Mateo. She enjoys painting daily and never runs out of inspiration. Although she works full time as a commercial insurance broker, she is a prolific painter devoted to her craft. Her work can be described as impressionistic, expressive, and impactful.
Sherry loves to share her process with her students, and encourages them to loosen up by tapping into their “inner child”.
Sherry is currently exhibiting over 20 pieces of her work at Golden Moon Gallery.
