Color Theory with Rob Rock

Description: A study of the principles of additive and subtractive color in two-dimensional art. Students will utilize the visual elements and principles of design as they apply to color. Students will focus on building everything from the three primary colors.
Materials list for students to bring:
Students may each choose to work in various mediums with the exception of oils due to drying times.
Watercolors, acrylics, pastels, or colored pencils
Papers/canvases needed to work with their chosen mediums.
Brushes for those choosing to work with paints
Sketching pencil and kneaded eraser
Colors needed… basic red, yellow, blue, white and a little black.
A hard backing surface to support your paper if that’s your chosen substrate—at least 18x24” in size. You can use any flat board that size without buying a manufactured drawing board, but there is an Artist’s Loft drawing board that has a carrying handle and a clamp on top to hold the paper for only $20.
