Variable Creatives | Portland, OR
About this Event
This class is focused on exploring color theory through watercolors. Learn the color wheel and principles of color theory, develop a few dynamic color palettes, experiment with mixing watercolor, and learn how to use color theory in floral paintings.
Students will learn basic concepts of what color is, how it can be used and how we see it in our everyday lives and especially in art. This class approaches color in an intuitive and hands-on way. We will mix color and paint a floral bouquet / botanical watercolor using personalized color palettes.
Students will leave class with color theory charts and diagrams and a botanical watercolor art piece. All materials will be provided. All skill levels are welcome!
Light snacks and drinks will be provided.
About the instructor:
Tatiana Phelan was born in Bogotá, Colombia. Since a very early age she started to create and nurture her own love for art which has provided her with an incredible peace over the years.
For over 10 years she has been creating colorful artworks with harmonious contrasts that represent elements from nature that are then transformed into magical scenes. This allows her to recreate her emotions and get closer to the magical/rich landscapes and gardens that she grew up surrounded by in Colombia and that now has the fortune to enjoy since she moved to Portland, OR.
During her professional career she has been developing deep knowledge and experience with color theory and is certified as a G7 Color Expert from Idealliance.
