COLOMBIAN COOKING CLASS

Join us for a beautiful collaborative cooking experience led by two incredible Colombian women from our Newburyport community — Maria José Polis (Bucaramanga) and Jessica Puerta (Medellin). As part of the Latina Table in the Mi Cocina, Tu Cocina Winter Series, they will take us on a flavorful tour of their home regions through traditional dishes, stories, and hands-on cooking.

? Papas Rellenas Colombianas (Bucaramanga)
We’ll begin with Maria Jose"s recipe for Bucaramanga-style stuffed potatoes — crispy on the outside, savory and comforting on the inside.

? Aji Criollo
Next, we’ll make a fresh, vibrant Colombian aji — the perfect table salsa to pair with any dish.

? Cazuela de Frijoles (Medellín)
Yessica will teach us how to prepare this rich, flavorful bean casserole, a beloved classic from the region of Antioquia.

? Arroz con Leche (Traditional Dessert)
To end the evening, both chefs will guide us through making a creamy, comforting arroz con leche — the perfect sweet finish to our Colombian feast.

• Demo + Hands-On: We’ll be cooking in groups to tackle each dish together.
• BYOB: Bring your favorite wine, beer, or beverage to enjoy during class.
• Community-Centered: Meet Maria José and Jessica, learn about Colombian regional cuisine, and enjoy a night of culture, flavor, and connection.
