In 2017, Gavin was officially made a Fellow of Royal Victoria College of music in London, one of the most prestigious music colleges in Europe
Lauded by industry giants like Paul Williams (writer for The Carpenters/Barbra Streisand) Graham Nash (The Hollies/Crosby, Stills and Nash) Enya & more, Gavin’s unique blend of soft jazz and contemporary Folk music has charmed audiences right across the world
Sidelong to his solo endeavours, Gavin has written for & with a wide number of contemporary artists including: Kiera Dignam, Kylabelle, Leah Barniville, Saibh Skelly, Zoe Clarke, Country Starlet Claudia Buckley, Eurovision Legend Charlie McGettigan and many more
During a brief touring hiatus in 2018, Colm became a staff writer for a number advertising agencies in the UK & Ireland with his compositions appearing in advert campaigns for Sightsavers, Purina 1, Vauxhall, Nesquick cereal & a variety of Irish based charity campaigns for both online and television distribution
Having shared the stage in recent years with evergreen legends like Ralph McTell, Peggy Seeger, Dean Friedman & Mike Batt, 2026 sees the release of Gavin’s “Live at Whelan’s” album, a record that captures an artist at the zenith of his creative powers
At the close of 2025, Colm Gavin performed a solo show in the Legendary Bitter End Club in New York’s west village. New York Film & Music critic, Emily Walsh described the performance as “like watching a young, Irish Randy Newman etch his name on the wall of eternity”
