Collins Capital Forum: One System, Not Silos
About this Event
Kalamazoo does not lack business resources. It lacks a way to find them.
That was the finding from the first Collins Capital Forum, and it is the reason we are convening again. An owner or founder rarely knows where to start, or what is actually available for their particular stage of business. The support exists, but it sits in silos, with no system that guides a company from one step to the next.
The second Collins Capital Forum brings one voice from each layer of that support system into the same room:
- Local government resources
- Federal programs and policy
- Nonprofit and philanthropic resources
- Regional economic development
- Access to private capital
What makes this different from most forums is the format and the purpose. It is a candid, back and forth conversation, not a lineup of presentations, and no one is here to pitch a program. The goal is to uncover what businesses actually need, to be honest about where today's resources fall short, and to begin building one resource that brings it all together and points a company to what fits where it is. That resource is already in the works, and this room is part of how it gets built.
If you own or lead a business in Kalamazoo, your voice belongs here. Come tell us where you got stuck, what you could not find, and what would have made the difference.
