What to expect…
Shag 101: an intro for the curious and a refresher for returning shmuffins. Over five weeks we will take you through the basics you need to join in the fun. An emphasis on pulse, partnership and creativity will unlock a world of dancefloor possibilities!
What is shag?
Collegiate shag (sometimes called flea hop) is an up-tempo partner dance from the 1930s, featuring fancy footwork and a bouncing pulse. Popular with swing dancers across the globe today, it’s a craze for all the cool kids (that’s you). Simple to pick up, once the fundamentals are under your belt there are infinite ways to explore and invent!

Who are Shagamuffins?
Rob and Ellen caught the shag bug in 2012 and never looked back. Having travelled the world in pursuit of nifty moves and dancefloor joy, they’ve made it their mission to share the love and get everyone hooked. Two years of teaching weekly classes in Norwich were put on pause in 2020 – now they can’t wait to get truckin’ with you again.
