College Bound AZ Is Presenting Hoops for Hope Gala: A Celebratory

Fundraising Event while Honoring Ms. Kylie Hunts - In-Winter our newest Harvard Graduate 2025.

ABOUT KYLIE

Kylie graduated from Harvard this spring with a degree in Sociology as she works to helps overcome violence against lost and missing indigenous women. Her graduation is a remarkable achievement that reflects both her hard work and her dedication to serving others. As a proud advocate for her tribe and for Native Americans across the nation, Kylie uses her voice to uplift her community and preserve its heritage. Her journey to Harvard began with her participation in our program, which helped open the door to higher education and provided the guidance, resources, and belief she needed to pursue her dreams. Today, we are deeply honored to celebrate Kylie—not only for her academic success, but for the way she carries her heritage forward, inspiring future generations to dream boldly and achieve greatly.

ABOUT COLLEGE BOUND AZ

At College Bound AZ, we are deeply committed to empowering underrepresented youth by providing them with the tools and support they need to pursue higher education and transform their futures. Our mission is rooted in the belief that education is a powerful catalyst for change and that every student, regardless of their background, deserves equitable access to the opportunities a college degree provides.

For many of our students, coming from low-income and underserved communities, the path to higher education is fraught with barriers. That’s why our primary focus is on offering personalized mentorship and resources that help bridge these gaps. Through our biweekly workshops, we address key aspects of the college journey, such as financial literacy, mental health, time management, FAFSA completion, and the college application process. These workshops provide a safe, interactive space where students gain the confidence and skills necessary to navigate the challenges of higher education.

Understanding that financial barriers often stand as the biggest obstacle, we prioritize helping our students manage their finances effectively, from budgeting to scholarship planning, ensuring that no student’s dreams are derailed by financial constraints. Additionally, we offer essential resources, such as laptops, scholarships, book allowances, food access, and gas cards, to help alleviate everyday challenges and ensure students can focus on their studies.

At College Bound AZ, we believe in the transformative power of education. We know that by working alongside these students—who often face the dual challenges of underrepresentation and financial hardship—we are not only changing their lives but also creating a ripple effect that will positively impact their families for generations. Equity through Education is not just our mission; it’s our way of empowering students to break free from the cycles of poverty and reach their fullest potential.

Your support of our GALA makes you an integral part of their narrative, contributing to a positive shift in the way their stories unfold.
