Cedar Rapids Community School District high schools are transitioning to a new College and Career Pathways program that will enhance students' opportunities to engage in college and career readiness curriculum while developing transferable skills for the workforce, military, or college. These pathways will provide students with a supportive, focused learning environment where they can earn college credit or industry-recognized certifications. Current 8th graders will be the first to engage in this new program. Current 9-12 grade students will continue on their existing academic structure. These informational meetings are designed for middle school students, parents, and guardians whose children will be directly impacted by these changes, but all are welcome to attend and learn about:
- College & Career Pathways Model
- Freshman Academy coming in 25-26 school year
- How this approach prepares students for success
- Scheduling and class offerings
- How this approach benefits ALL students
- Opportunities for questions and answers
