About this Event

Writing is arguably the hardest part of the college application process. The main essay is a common source of anxiety and confusion for so many high school students, but it doesn’t have to be! Understanding the role of the main essay, the audience and getting an early start to the writing process are all key to putting together your very best 650 words.

There are four very common, very different, pieces of writing for the college application process: The main essay, Common Application activity list, the short answer question(s) and the expanded resume (UT only). After this in-person presentation, families will understand the differences between the types of writing and how to layer their essays with evidence of fit-to-major. Access College America will demystify the process in this information packed presentation which also includes a Q&A.
