About this Event
Hosted at the PRINTERHOF book fair, through accessible DIY and upcycling practices, we’ll explore how collective crafting can be both playful and political — a gentle resistance against isolation, perfectionism, overproduction, capitalism.
Together, we’ll carve our own letterforms or symbols from different materials, experiment with hand-printing using self-made and pre-carved stamps, and create printed pieces that carry our words, thoughts, and feelings. You’ll be guided through simple prompts if you want help finding a line of poetry or text — or you’re welcome to bring something meaningful with you. Using collage and reused materials, you’ll personalize your work and watch it take shape in conversation with others.
What we’ll do:
- Carve your own stamps (letters, symbols, or shapes)
- Print text or imagery using hand-carved and provided stamps
- Explore collage and upcycling techniques to accessorize your piece
- Share space, ideas, and process in a free-flow, guided setting
What you’ll take home:
- Practical knowledge on accessible hand-printing techniques
- Inspiration and tools for re-using waste materials in zine-making
- A self-printed piece of your choice: poster, postcard, or baby zine
What’s provided:
All tools and materials are included — carving tools and safety guidance, pre-carved alphabet and symbol stamps, printing paint, collage materials, and blank posters, postcards, and zines in various sizes.
Duration: 1.5–2 hours
*Please note that the workshop space at Vagabund Brauerei is not climate controlled. It is indoors, but on the second floor with high ceilings amidst the brewer's tanks. The breaks of all PRINTERHOF programming are planned with this temperature in mind, and while it will not be as cold as outside, it will also not be heated. Please prepare your clothing accordingly if you reserve a ticket!
Cost Breaddown:
Solidarity ticket: suggested donation of 5–10€ (covers material costs)
Supporter ticket: 15€ (covers materials + supports the work of the Re(a)d Wedding Kollektiv)
No prior experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to create together. Come as you are, leave with ink on your hands and something made by you, with others.

Your host: Johanna Doer (@johannadoer) is co-organizing as part of the Re(a)d Wedding Kollektiv and continuously explores writing and crafting as a form of expression, community building and collective resistance. Her mixed material work focuses on the unseen and the free-flow of creating as a process. Having a background in management and social work, her main goal is to create spaces for collective exploration that are shaped by the needs and wants of the surrounding community. While hosting regular events she brought to life the first Re(a)d Wedding Wilde (W)orte Poetry Walk as part of the Flyleaf Book & Zine Festival in 2025.
