LONG DESCRIPTION
Collective Bloom brings together the work of Joshua Houska, Miki Harder, Angela Chirila, and Kery O'Sullivan in a celebration of creativity, experimentation, and connection to the natural world. As an Associate Resident Show, the exhibition highlights four distinct artistic voices working across a variety of mediums, perspectives, and processes.
Joshua Houska draws inspiration from travel, storytelling, and cinema, weaving narrative and atmosphere into watercolor, gouache, and intaglio printmaking. His work captures fleeting moments and imagined scenes with a cinematic sense of movement and discovery.
Miki Harder explores the interconnectedness of nature through painting and clay, balancing humor, curiosity, and observation. Her evolving style moves fluidly between the microscopic and monumental, revealing the playful geometry and rhythms woven throughout the natural world.
Angela Chirila’s paintings reflect a deep appreciation for beauty, spirituality, and wonder. Her work invites viewers into luminous and imaginative spaces where emotion and nature intertwine, creating moments that feel both grounding and dreamlike.
Kery O'Sullivan creates work inspired directly by time spent outdoors, often painting during hikes, bike rides, and trail runs. Through plein air watercolor and larger oil paintings, she captures the changing light, atmosphere, and emotional resonance of place, offering viewers a quiet moment of reflection and connection.
Together, the artists of Collective Bloom embrace experimentation, community, and the many ways creativity can emerge through engagement with the world around us.
