About this Event

Join Annabelle Aventurin for the workshop "Collective and family archives"!

We are prioritizing Black attendees for this workshop.

Doors open at 12 p.m. Refreshments served. In French + in English. :)

? Bring a personal archive (it can be a picture, a cassette, an audio, an objet) ?

This workshop is a continuation of the one organized in December 2023, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary artist Claire Zaniolo, as part of a workshop organized by the afrofeminist collective Mwasi.

Its intention is to propose archiving methodologies, accumulated within the framework of Annabelle Aventurin's work as an archivist, to apply to the sensitive family or personal archives: a photograph, an audio, a video or even an object.

This workshop also attempts to be part of the continuity of what the activist and theorist of black feminism bell hooks affirms in her collection Belonging: a culture of place, by proposing to reflect, via archiving, on the privileged links of everyday life with an environment, a place, a community, between past and present.

BIO: Annabelle Aventurin is an audiovisual archivist and film programmer. In 2022, she produced her first documentary essay, Le Roi n’est pas mon cousin (30’), programmed in around fifty film festivals.

COVID: We strongly advise to test negative before attending our events and to stay home if you present any symptoms. We will have N95 masks if needed.
