In this popular series, formerly called Behind the Scenes, VMHC staff curate displays featuring some of the museum’s millions of artifacts and manuscripts that are not currently on exhibit. These themed presentations provide an opportunity for guests to examine the museum’s collection up close while interacting with VMHC staff members.History is often told by adults, but these adults were not always the mature people you learn about in school—they were kids once, too. Join us as we look at how children throughout Virginia’s history have experienced childhood based on their individual circumstances and the place and time in which they lived.
